Last War Season 1: Fortress and City Warfare Rules

Start of Season 1

At the beginning of Season 1, all alliances are relocated to the map edge as a Hive.

The map is larger and consists of two types of territories:

  • Military Fortresses
  • Cities

The Capitol remains in the game and is now called City of Apocalypse.

All cities and military fortresses start unowned.

The alliance that last controlled the Capitol retains ownership for 28 days before it can be contested again (including Ministries and Hats, as usual).

Rules Within Your Own Warzone

Capturing Military Fortresses

Unlock: Day 3, Week 1

Daily Limit & Ownership Limit

  • Up to 2 Military Fortresses per day can be captured.
  • Additional attacks are possible, but once 2 successful captures are reached, any further capture attempts are blocked (reinforcements are returned).
  • Initial ownership limit: 3 Military Fortresses

Increasing the Fortress Limit via Cities

  • City Level 1–5: +1 fortress limit per city
  • City Level 6: +2 fortress limit per city

Connectivity & Expansion

  • To capture the first territory, an alliance needs a Level 1 Military Fortress in its own Warzone.
  • Additional Military Fortresses require adjacency:
a neighboring fortress must already be owned.

Additional Important Rules

  • Capturing requires sufficient Virus Resistance.
  • The daily capture counter is not shown directly in-game.
Use in-game mails (captures / abandonments) to track progress.
  • If a city loss causes the ownership limit to be exceeded, nothing happens immediately.
New fortresses can only be captured again once limits align.
  • Military Fortresses can be abandoned (duration: 1 hour).
  • After capture, a 36-hour protection period applies (including other Warzones).
  • Once the daily limit of 2 fortress captures is reached, other fortresses cannot even be attacked for support or defense.
  • Capitol rule: The Capitol holder may capture adjacent fortresses near the Capitol.

Capturing Cities

Unlock: Day 4, Week 1

War Declaration & Daily Limit

  • Up to 2 city war declarations per day
  • Only one active city declaration per alliance at a time
  • Declaration duration: 1 hour

Connection to the Target City

Alliance territories must be connected to the target city through owned Military Fortresses or Cities.

If no connection exists, the alliance must first capture a Level 1 Military Fortress to establish territory linkage.

City Ownership Limits

  • Own Warzone: maximum 4 cities
  • Other Warzones: maximum 4 cities total (not per Warzone)
  • Overall maximum: 8 cities (4 home + 4 external)

Combat Conditions & Rewards

  • During sieges, troops are affected by toxins.
Higher Virus Resistance reduces the impact.
  • Sieges cause direct troop losses; loss ratios are shown in the city view.
  • First-capture rewards are granted to participants.
  • City rewards are granted to all alliance members.
  • Alliances also receive loot chests, distributed by R5 or the Butler.

Protection After City Capture

  • Captured cities receive 7 days of protection, during which no war declaration is possible.
  • If a city is abandoned:
    • Recapture by the same alliance is only possible after 5 days
    • Other alliances may capture it earlier
  • According to the guide, protection ends after 6 days at 12:00, aligned with the next declaration day (server time).
  • Capitol rule: The Capitol holder may capture adjacent Level 6 cities.

Daily Limits Summary (Own Warzone)

  • Per day:
    • 2 Military Fortresses
    • 2 Cities
  • Limits are separate
  • Military Fortresses: 36-hour protection
  • Cities: 7-day protection

  • Outposts cannot be removed once placed.

  • Captures require connected Military Fortresses.

Alliance → Alliance Cities (tabs per Warzone with Outposts).
